Navman Wireless Sells to Telit Communications
Navman Wireless is a North American based company; however, it is also available in the UK for fleet companies and drivers. Recently Navman Wireless announced a sale of OEM Solutions. It is a subsidiary of the main company. The subsidiary is being sold to Telit Communications. This portion of the company offers GPS modules and machine to machine wireless technology.
Navman stated the move was designed to concentrate on the growing fleet tracking equipment sales over the GPS modules and M2M. They are currently representing 90% of companies in the US and around 20% in the UK. Navman Wireless Online AVL2 fleet and asset management platforms are available for managers around the world to monitor vehicles. The equipment offers real time tracking and helps reduce fuel, labour, and vehicle operating costs.
Included in the GPS tracking solution from Navman are system maps, reports, and software to service models in order to help assist fleet management. The idea is to help companies find problems like excessive idling, improper timesheets, and unauthorised usage of business time for personal errands. There is an integrated mobile dispatch and navigation terminal one can have between drivers and dispatchers to make things better too.
Navman stated that while OEM does contribute to Navman, they would rather concentrate all of their time on the global market with asset and fleet management. They have tripled their installations over the last couple of years, which means a great deal of expansion in markets due to the demand companies have for better fleet performance. The company wants to focus solely on sales and advancing the current technology.
Navman Wireless is a GPS based tracking company for fleets. They offer vehicle tracking and analytics via software as a service. This helps track, communicate, and monitor the fixed and movable assets. The company currently monitors over 145,000 vehicles, which are owned by more than 14,000 businesses and organisations throughout the world including in the UK.
The company is based in Glenview, Illinois but they deal with the majority of the US, UK, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, Taiwan, China, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. It is truly a global company. One can benefit in multiple ways from Navman Wireless when fleets are involved. The sell off with OEM will not change the fleet management they offer. It is basically selling off their personal GPS options to concentrate more on important fleet operations.
